Prenatal Appointment

(Deluxe Doula Clients)

At your prenatal appointment, we will go over your the Birth Care Plan and narrow it down to your ideal Birth Preference List.

We will go over breathing techniques, practice labor support options, and get to know each other better!

At your prenatal, we will also practice babywearing safety with your new baby carrier! Whoo!

Start thinking of your products

(Birth Photography Clients)

Start looking at your walls. Do you need updated pictures? Or worse…maybe you need ANY pictures up on your wall!? What better pictures than your newly growing family!

Do you know why wall art of your family is beneficial? Display pictures of your kiddos and family on the wall is a tangible way to show your children just how valuable and treasured they are!

When I create albums for my own family…I don’t expect them to sit on our coffee table. Sometimes they do. But mostly I expect to flip through them with my grandbabies one day. I think about the day I get to share them with my future kid-in-laws. I daydream sometimes about being 70, silently crying over the most wonderful time in my life. Albums are important now…but how much more important will it be to show the ones I love just how much I loved them long ago?

Digital files. Everyone loves them. Everyone loves to share them with friends and family! Digital collections are important because they’re a way to make sure you have the images forever! And don’t forget…I always say to save your files in at least 3 locations. Maybe an external hard drive. Maybe your moms computer. Maybe on the cloud. But technology changes or fails, so never rely on one place!

What to expect

Doula Support:

From tenderly holding space to offering the best hip squeezes you’ve ever felt to being ready with that ice water when you need it most. A doula will know when to offer emotional and physical support during your labor and when to give you space. I will provide position ideas and resources. I will remind you of your plan and goals. As your support, I will continually insure that you feel safe, heard, and respected. I will encourage your partner to eat, drink, and rest at appropriate times. After your baby is finally in your arms, I will continue to support your entire family for an hour or two as you learn your new roles in life. As your doula, I will support with your first latch, your first snack, and make sure you are comfortable. It is important to me to bring along one camera and take a picture here in there if time and the moment allows. You are my main focus, but I will snap a picture or two of labor and after baby is comfortably in your arms.

Birth Photography:

As a professional birth photographer, accredited by the International Association of Professional Birth Photographers, I work under a strict code of ethics. I endeavor to capture images which can be viewd be all audiences and tell your story in the most objective and artistic way possible. I have plenty of experience working with a variety of birth clients. Birth is unpredictable. Home, hospital, or birth center...your story deserves to be documented. My role is to quietly sit by, looking for the opportunity to capture the emotions that are often overlooked during the moment. most families even mentioned after the fact that they forget I was even there! I'll silently move about the room, sometimes leave for short breaks when I can sense you both need some time alone, and respectfully work alongside the medical staff. I typically stay until 1-2 hours after baby is born. This allows immediate bonding time and later documentation of the weighing and measuring of baby.
